Description
During my many trips and explorations in far Northern Australia I have witnessed amazing natural interactions between a diverse array of wildlife that inhabit the region.
The Crocodile in all its cunningness power and grace always leaves a lasting impression upon my return.
In Crocodile the schooling mullet are represented along its tail, bottom dwelling fish at the tails base and pelagic fish mid body, with lapping water over the crocodiles nose. The form has been stylised, inspired by ancient depictions of crocodiles by the indigenous people who lived amongst them.
The pose depicts a scene at the river mouth, the Crocodile turning back on itself to snap up a meal, scattering the bait fish and leaving scraps for the foraging fish below.
